BAKERSFIELD, CA - A semi truck caught fire on Highway 58, closing part of the off-ramp at Comanche Drive for several hours.
It happened just before 3:30 p.m on Sunday.
California Highway Patrol Officers said the semi was westbound on the highway when the rear axle of the tractor trailer rig broke and started a fire.
The driver pulled over and was able to get out of the truck uninjured.
The highway has since reopened.
