SHAFTER, CA - A 22-year-old Bakersfield man is dead after a head-on crash in Shafter. The accident happened just before 6:30 Sunday morning on Sante Fe Way, south of Burbank Street.
CHP officers say Alex Cabrera was driving south on Santa Fe Way when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided with two vehicles.
The driver of one of those vehicles, 66-year-old Michael Rigby of Bakersfield, sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Cabrera died at the scene.
Officers don't know if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
