A motorcyclist died in a crash in Oildale Tuesday night. The coroner is withholding the 33-year-old's name until his family has been notified.
The CHP says the motorcyclist was headed down Oildale Drive around 6:30 Tuesday evening. At the same time, a truck was backing out of a driveway near Belle Avenue. As the motorcyclist came over a crest in the hill, he struck the side of the truck and ended up wedged underneath it.

"According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was traveling south on Oildale Drive and witnesses are saying at a high rate of speed. We've heard 60, we've heard 80, almost 100 miles an hour," said Sgt. Basil Zuniga with the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
