BAKERSFIELD, CA - There is new information about the man accused of killing a 1-year-old girl in Lake Isabella. Court documents show 24-year-old Jared Ramirez told Sheriff's deputies he threw Sophialynn Taylor at a foldout couch and she struck her head on its metal frame a few hours before her death.
Deputies were called to the 2500 block of Erskine Creek Road on January 12th for a report of a baby not breathing.
The child's mother Amanda Reese and Ramirez were both arrested although Reese was released and has not been charged.
Detectives say Ramirez told them he didn't mean to hurt her but Sophialynn would frustrate him with her crying.
