Bakersfield, CA. - The Kern County Fire Department has announced they have concluded negotiations in a contract agreement with Ventura County Fire Department to provide emergency response services to the residents of Lockwood Valley.

The Lockwood Valley community is in a remote are of Ventura County that is closer to the Frazier Mountain Park area, which is serviced by KCFD.

KCFD reports that the contract incorporates a fair compensation for their services to the remote location.

“This is another great example to two local government agencies working together for the safety of our communities," said Kern County Fire Chief Brian Marshall.

The fire response team will incorporate three engines and a Battalion Chief, which KCFD said will create added safety for first responders.
