Vice President Joe Biden will come to Bakersfield tomorrow.
He will attend a "Rally for the Valley" in support of democratic congressional candidate Amanda Renteria at California State University Bakersfield, which is being held at the Icardo Center at CSU Bakersfield.
Renteria is running against incumbent republican David Valadao for California's 21st Congressional District.
We know the vice president will arrive at Meadows Field Airport from LAX tomorrow afternoon.
The details of how he is getting from the airport to CSUB have not been released.
Airport officials say he will be flying in on Air Force Two and that his arrival will not interrupt any other flights.
CSUB spokesperson Irma Cervantes says the building has a capacity of 2500 people, and the Renteria campaign is handling the tickets.
She said "We anticipate that we are going to have more people interested in attending the event than we have space for. We know that more tickets were handed out that we have space for, so we do want to make sure that the public knows that just because they have a ticket that does not guarantee admission"
Cervantes also says only people who have tickets will be allowed in the building.
Doors open at 1 pm and the program will begin at 2 pm Attendees will not be able to leave until the event is over sometime between 4 and 5 pm, but plan on being there about four to six hours.
She suggests everyone should arrive early to line up because once they reach capacity, the doors will close.
Cervantes says that Secret Service will be screening everyone as they arrive so plan on bringing as little as possible and come as early as possible
Cervantes says parking will be on a first-come, first-serve basis... which is limited.
So car pool if you can, and if their lot is full plan on parking somewhere else like The Marketplace or take a GET Bus to campus.
