Sunrise has launched "Serving Up Change," a challenge to Kern County families to dish-up creative ways to bring parents and children together around meals and healthy activities.
Studies show that families who share meals at least five to seven times per week reduce children's risk of using drugs and alcohol. Kids also tend to have more nutritious diets and do better in school.
Throughout the rest of the year we'll profile different families and how moms, dads, and kids are making healthy changes to keep their family together.
