BAKERSFIELD, CA - Two men are under arrest, suspected of murder and conspiracy in the case of a missing Bakersfield woman who is now presumed dead.

34-year-old Andrea Russell was last seen at the Super 8 Motel on Wible Road.

It's been one week since Russell disappeared under what police call "suspicious circumstances".

"Detectives have literally been on this thing for the last 48 hours solid. They haven't given up at all," said Sgt. Joe Grubbs, Bakersfield Police Department.

Officers say new surveillance video from the motel shows two men taking a large, covered object from a room.

"We believe that the object that came out of the room was a body, and that's based on all the evidence that we've recovered at this point and interviews with the suspects," said Grubbs.

Those suspects are 33-year-old Ruben Castro and 22-year-old Daniel Norzagaray.

Officers say the body was put in a Chevy Suburban that was seen leaving the motel.

Officers say along with the Suburban, a red Mazda was also seen leaving.

Police say after serving a search warrant at the homes of the two suspects, a body wasn't found.

Police say this case is unusual.

"It's kind of a different circumstance where you're having to put the pieces together. It's unique, said Grubbs.

On Wednesday, officers said a woman's body found in a fire pit Tuesday off Edison Highway, isn't believed to be Russell.

"We haven't completely ruled it out, but the evidence at the scene would suggest that it's not more, so then it would suggest that it is involved or that it is Ms. Russell," Grubbs continued.

Bakersfield Police would not give 17 News the surveillance video from the motel, saying it's being used for their investigation.

Officers say they are still searching for Russell's body.

If you have any information on this case, call police at 327-7111.

The Sheriff's Department is handling the fire pit body case.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine that woman's cause of death.

She has yet to be identified.
