BAKERSFIELD, CA- A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in east Bakersfield.
A tip led officers to the 1400 block of Oregon Street Tuesday night for a vehicle possibly involved in that accident.
Officers arrested Mario Martinez of Bakersfield on various charges including suspicion of felony hit and run and vehicular manslaughter in connection with this crash.
The accident happened just before midnight on Monday in the 1100 block of Monterey Street.
Bakersfield police said when they arrived they found a 31-year-old man who had been hit by a car. But the driver took off.
The man who was hit died at the scene. His name has not been released.
Officers said it appears the man pushing a shopping car and was not in a cross walk.
