BAKERSFIELD, CA- A local woman is recovering Monday morning after being saved from a fire in her East Bakersfield home.

Kern County firefighers responded to the 2700 block of Monterey Street just before 1:30 a.m. for a home fully engulfed.

Three sheriff's deputies were first on scene and found a woman still in the home. They said they had to force their way inside through the window.

Deputies were able to pull that woman and one of her dogs to safety.  Her other two dogs were also rescued.

The woman was treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters say they knocked down the fire in about 25 minutes.

The amount of damage is unknown at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
