BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A BPD police dog is on the mend after getting involved in an on-the-job dog fight Monday. The police dog was reportedly attacked by a pit bull while officers were assisting parole agents in serving a warrant on T Street in central Bakersfield.
That's where a homeowner's dog attacked the police dog. Parole officers used a tazer and pepper spray to separate the animals. The police K-9 was transported to a vet for medical aid and reportedly suffered minor injuries. The pit pull also suffered minor injuries.
