A Bakersfield man is in jail after police said he kidnapped his girlfriend and repeatedly beat her for three days.

Friends of the 20-year-old woman say Kristopher Lawless bit her, hit her, and tried to Super glue her wounds, all while she was bound inside a house in south Bakersfield.

The friends who took her in after she escaped said the Stockdale High School grad was dragged from room to room and was beaten.

"He would drag her from one room to the other room. She had rug burns on her knees," said Elpidia Gobea, a friend of the victim.

"She said she was cleaning the shower because they had a party. He got a big vase full of marbles that he just has for decoration, threw it at her while she was in the shower, and hit her on the head," said Robert Gobea, the victim's friend.

Friends said that's because Lawless thought the woman stole something.

"He said that she stole $3,500 from him, stole all his drugs, stole his pills, stole a bunch of stuff from him," said Gobea.

Elpidia Gobea said the woman told her Lawless kept her captive for three days, even during her birthday on Halloween.

"He would tie her up, her hands and her feet, and he would put her inside of a tent and just leave her there," said Elpidia.

That was until Thursday at 6 a.m when the woman escaped, and a stranger picked her up and took her to Robert and Elpidia's home.

"Her eyes were swollen shut. Her lips were all fat. She had a stab mark where he grabbed her lip and shoved a knife through it. He cut her neck, shaved parts of her hair off, and then he tried to Super glue all her wounds together, and he tried to Super glue all her wounds shut," said Robert.

Hours after the 20-year-old escaped, police arrested Lawless.

The Gobeas want justice.

"If I had a chance to see him, even have a confrontation with him, he wouldn't be alive. I would have taken things into my own hands cause that's my daughter. I see her as my daughter," said Elpidia.

The woman's family tells us she is recovering at home. Lawless faces multiple charges including attempted murder and torture.

Neighbors say they saw the couple fighting all the time.
