An effort to save a historic home that once belonged to a founding father of Kern County has hit a roadblock. The jastro house will not be moving to the Kern County Museum after all.
The museum board of directors has declined an offer to move the house to Pioneer Village.
The house was bought by attorney Bill Alexander in 2010. He planned to restore the home at 20th and G Streets but, after he found out that would cost a half million dollars, he tried to donate the home to the museum but the museum is also facing its own budget constraints.
