BAKERSFIELD CA -- Bakersfield Police say a father and son got into an argument Saturday morning, both were shot but officers aren't saying who pulled the trigger. " I just saw her waiving her hands like this and just running in circles in the street," says witness Woody Mejia.
Mejia says a mother ran into the street to try and get help for her son and husband who had been shot. "Officers clear the residence and they located an adult male who we believe is the father deceased inside the residence. The son was also suffering from a gun shot wound to the upper torso area," says Sgt. Frank Gonzales, Bakersfield Police Department.
Police believe it was an argument that turned deadly. Officers say the son had recently moved back into the home.
Neighbors say the cul-de-sac is usually quiet and they've never seen the family fight in the past. "But we have never seen anything like this in this area."
John Wilkerson thinks it was a domestic dispute and his neighborhood is still safe. "I've got a sister and seven cousins on this street and I don't fear one bit for them at all."
The son, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital. No word on his condition.
