BAKERSFIELD, CA -- State employment officials say the unemployment rate in Kern County was 11.5% in June.
That's up from a revised 10.9% in May 2013, and below the year-ago estimate of 13.5 percent.
This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 8.8 percent for California and 7.8 percent for the nation during the same period. The unemployment rate in the city of Bakersfield is 8.0%.
