TAFT - A large amount of methamphetamine, cash and firearms were found by Sheriff's deputies inside a Taft home on Monday.
According to the Sheriff's Department, a search warrant was issued for a home in the 400 block of Hillard Street. The search was related to a residential burglary investigation that took place earlier in the day.
Deputies found 100 grams of meth, $2,300 in cash and seven firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, UZI machine pistol and AR-15 rifle equipped with a grenade launcher, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Deputies say the weapons were traced to the man arrested for the burglary, Joe Barraza, a convicted felon.
