BAKERSFIELD, CA--After Bakersfield Police investigated the incident, the college told 17 News there is no evidence to substantiate the report of a forced sexual assault at Bakersfield College.

The initial report by BC said a man confronted a woman, then walked to the fine arts building and sexually assaulted her.
The woman says she ran into the same man at a different location on campus and says he assaulted her again in a restroom in the student services building.

But Bakersfield Police say no crime was committed. "Based on the initial investigation from the Bakersfield Police Department, there has been a determination there was no assault. Bakersfield College is fully supporting that investigation. There is going to be some follow up investigations from the Bakersfield Police Department where they will look in to this case. But at this time we have determined that there is no threat on campus," says Bakersfield College spokesperson Amber Chiang.

The woman initially contacted Bakersfield Police last Friday.  But the school only found out Tuesday when she informed school counselors.  That prompted Bakersfield College to immediatly send out a timely warning bulletin.  Sending out that warning is federally mandated by the Clery Act.

Regardless of an investigation, the Clery Act states when a school is informed of a campus danger, an alert must go out.
But again, late Tuesday afternoon, the school said there is no threat from this alleged incident and that the Bakersfield Police Department is leading any ongoing investigation.
